Professional Doggy Day School & Training in Mississauga
Serving Oakville, Etobicoke, and the Greater Toronto Area
Dog Day School is an upgrade to our Structured Daycare program for owners who want more training and mental engagement included in their dog’s day.
Day School dogs participate in the complete Structured Daycare routine, including supervised socialization, enrichment, outdoor time and scheduled rest.
In addition, they receive structured treadmill or slat mill exercise and trainer-led group training inside our facility.
Group training focuses on practical skills such as place, sit, down, door manners, calmness around other dogs and impulse control.
Based in Mississauga and serving Oakville, Etobicoke, and the GTA, Day School is designed for dog owners who expect more from their dog’s daily routine — more structure, more purpose, and more results.
How Is Day School Different From Structured Daycare?
Structured Daycare provides dogs with a balanced daily routine that includes supervised socialization, enrichment, outdoor time and scheduled rest.
Day School includes everything offered through Structured Daycare, plus additional structured exercise and group obedience practice.
It is designed to reinforce useful everyday behaviours while teaching dogs how to remain calm, focused and responsive around other dogs and distractions.
Day School is a group-based program. It does not include walks, field trips or training outside the Dog Genius facility.
What’s Included in Day School:
Everything from our Structured Daycare program, plus:
- Group Place Training– Dogs practise remaining calmly on their individual place beds while other dogs, people and distractions are present.
This is particularly helpful for developing impulse control, neutrality and the ability to settle in a group environment.
- Treadmill or Slat Mill Work – Structured movement that provides physical exercise while encouraging focus, confidence and self-control.
- Group Obedience Practice– Trainer-led practice of foundational behaviours such as: Sit, Down, Place, Door manners, Waiting at thresholds, Impulse control, Calmness around other dogs.
- Practice at Home Videos– Owners receive videos of the training exercises practised in order to follow through at home.
This is a premium program for owners who want to invest in their dog’s behavior and mindset — not just their energy levels.
