We’re Chris and Doina — the couple behind Dog Genius, and the ones you’ll see working with every dog that comes through our doors.
We’ve spent years working with dogs that were anxious, reactive, overexcited, or just misunderstood — and just as much time helping owners take control of the process. Everything we’ve learned is built into this facility: structured, clean, and focused on producing calm, reliable dogs that thrive in real life.
Here is a bit more about who we are:
Chris, originally from Romania, has over 10 years of experience working with dogs, specializing in challenging behaviour and client coaching. He oversees our Board & Train program and works closely with owners to build clarity, leadership, and long-term results.
Doina, born in Moldova, brings over 6 years of hands-on experience and leads much of the day-to-day structure in our Daycare and Day School programs. She’s known for creating calm, focused environments where dogs can settle, learn, and thrive through consistent routine.
We also live and work alongside our own dogs, who are a core part of the Dog Genius environment. From left to right in the photo: Seven, well-socialized who often helps evaluate new dogs. Mojito, resilient and confident, is paired with assertive or high-energy dogs to teach appropriate social behaviour. Zelda, highly focused and precise, is used to demonstrate advanced obedience and showcase specific behaviours in training.
They’re not just part of our team — they’re part of our family, and a reflection of the standards we hold for every dog we work with.

With over 15 years of combined experience, we specialize in helping anxious, reactive, and overstimulated dogs become calm, focused, and reliable — through structure, leadership, and clear communication.
Chris, originally from Romania, leads our Board & Train program and works closely with owners on client coaching. Doina, born in Moldova, oversees our Daycare and Day School programs and is known for creating calm, structured environments that support real behaviour change.
